Was just in Santa Barbara and found some very cool items at the local thrift store! I love going to the Alpha Thrift Store in Goleta – always good stuff! My very favorite was this awesomely, chic and glamorous, brass and glass shelf credenza! Only $69.99! I was entranced by the thought of how beautiful this could be in a my home office, storing coffee table books, stationary, fresh flowers and displaying jewelry, etc. Or, how about a cool bar in a mid mod living room?! How would your use or incorporate this piece into your home? I was heart broken that I had no room for this item. And it would not fit in my car any way, to make the long 90 mile journey to Los Angeles. In fact, I went back to this store about a week later and it was marked down to $ 49.99. Oh….I was dying!!The next item I also fell for, and again, have no need for, is this large, gorgeous mirror. This beautiful beveled mirror is trimmed in an ornate, but classic gold frame and set on the back to hang vertical or horizontal. Well made and would be great propped against a wall in an entry way, office, dressing area or bedroom. I think it was $75. The gold is very traditional, but I could see painting this frame too, to make it more contemporary or lighter in feeling. How about dark navy for a contemporary vibe or creamy white for a beach house? This pair of of related artwork has clearly been at this store for a while, as each piece was on its 4th markdown! Okay, the frames are rough, but in the right room, these could be very cool. Just replace the frames and these 2 mid mod prints would be great.
And the final item, is a 7 piece set of tall cocktail glasses with amazing colorful graphics. I grabbed the set for $6.99 as they will go with my cocktail glass collection and I do not have anything quite like this. I love the red cherries and lemon slices on the frosted glass. These should be fun to use this summer!
Well that’s my list of cool stuff I found today at the Thrift Store. Still thinking about the brass and glass shelf credenza. What did you find this weekend in the world of second hand? Share your flea market of thrift store scores in the comments below!
