Description
Ceramic Wine Pitcher Vintage Cheese Capri Japan Royal Sealy 1960s.
Sold as a pair (2 pieces).
A nice set of two hand-painted ceramic pitchers for wine, water, syrup, or oil & vinegar was made in the Capri pattern by Royal Sealy.
They can be used as pitchers, as originally intended, but also make perfect vases for cut flowers as well as storage containers in the kitchen for cooking utensils.
Each pitcher is signed on the bottom:
Capri, Royal Sealy, Japan
Dimensions:
The larger one measures 6-1/4 inches tall and 5-1/2 inches handle to spout with a 4-inch base diameter. The smaller is 5 inches tall, 4 inches handle to spout, and has a 2-7/8 inch base.
The artwork is the same on both featuring an Italian Chianti wine decanter with two cheeses in colors of gray, black, burgundy, and yellow against white on the front and an abstract painting of three multi-colored containers on the back.
Black trim on the handles and rims adds a nice accent.
Condition:
Both pitchers are in very good condition with no chips or cracks and only slight surface crazing and minor signs of use on the bottom.
Acquired in Thousand Oaks, California.
